Cafe Vico Italian restaurant is the unique vision of owner Marco Vico. He grew up in Brazil but dreamed of coming to America. When he came to the US he spent his first 13 years working for a first generation Italian family that ran an Italian restaurant in New Jersey. Marco did everything at the restaurant. He went from dishwashing and prep work to full chef status and then asked to be put on the floor as a bus boy to begin learning the front of the house. He went from the busing position up through waiter and manager.

In 1997 he moved his family to Fort Lauderdale and opened Cafe Vico Italian Restaurant with a mere 20 seats. Since then he has twice expanded in 2001 and 2003 to five dining rooms and is currently expanding again.

He was head chef for the first 10 years and during that time personally trained current chef Jose Villatoro in every nuance and technique needed to create the Cafe Vico’s traditional Italian food. Chef Villatoro’s skills in preparing Italian food are second to none and his reputation continues to grow each year.

Come for the beautiful Italian food with fine wine and leave with the memory of an exceptional dining experience.
